Dear Arabella friends,
our 5th autumn meeting took place from
08.10.2021 - 10.10.2021
in the Eifel town of Monschau-Mützenich.
The event, excellently planned and executed by our Arabella friend and 1st chairman of the Lloyd-Freunde IG e.V. Gottfried Schwaner with the support of his wife Uschi, was a complete success and will remain in our memories for a long time.
After the arrival of the participants around noon, there was a small snack and a short informative and highly interesting outline by Gottfried about the area in which we were traveling during the weekend.
After that, a visit to the Historische Senfmühle Monschau was on the agenda. In a guided tour we learned interesting facts about mustard and could also taste and purchase the many, very tasty, mustard varieties. Afterwards there was enough time to walk through the beautiful Eifel town of Monschau. Monschau is really charming and enchanting and has inspired us all!
On Saturday, we explored the German-Belgian border area and the Nationalpark Eifel in a lovingly devised grand excursion. Stops were the Wildgehege Hellenthal, where we had lunch and the "Taverne de la Gileppe" in the High Fens, a typical Belgian stop, which was already waiting for us with coffee and cake. In the evening we let the meeting end in a cozy round.
